They tried different surface hardening solutions, which all caused corrosion after short time in use &#8211; then they found Expanite&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em><strong><strong>Sigma Phase in Duplex?&nbsp;&#8211; Never with Expanite!<\/strong><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Duplex stainless steels contain 2 types of microstructure, austenite and ferrite.
