Expanites History

Expanite Inc. history

The Expanite technology was available to the North American market as early as 2012 – only two years after Expanite was founded in Denmark. In the early years, North American customers were serviced through an existing license agreement.

Expanite Inc. was established in 2016 and was the first Expanite subsidiary outside Denmark. The first customers in the USA to implement the Expanite technologies were within Food & Beverage machinery, Pumps and the Automotive industries. The customers typically convert from traditional technologies like Kolsterising and hard chrome plating to avoid spalling and improve corrosion resistance.

Expanite Inc. based in Twinsburg, Ohio has seen rapid growth and several expansions and investments in production facilities have been made. The latest was in 2025, when new heat treatment ovens were added both providing extra capacity and also enabling Expanite Inc to heat treat titanium – a technology that is highly relevant for the Medical device industry.
