The climate impact of the Expanite processes on stainless steel lead to 0,23-0.46 kg CO2 eq additional emissions per kg* of treated material.1).This should be compared to emissions of untreated stainless steel which are at 10.5 kg CO2 eq/kg 2).

This means that compared to untreated stainless steel the Expanite process adds 2-14% of greenhouse gas emissions. We believe this is low – so low, that the justification of “investing” in an Expanite solution is easily paid back. We welcome your view on this.
