ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY SURFACE HARDENING & heat treatment

A Better Investment for the Environment

As a young company we are committed to sustainability. We are also committed to transparency. This is why we are now sharing the data on the environmental impact of our surface hardening solutions. We believe that this is a first in our industry. Only by sharing data and having an open and honest dialog, we can work together towards a sustainable future.

We all know that surface hardening of metal surfaces is an investment in life cycle extension. This goes for all surface and heat treatment solutions. But when does the investment pay off? For your company and for the environment? We can document that when the heat treatment prolongs the lifetime of metal components with more than that 2% to 14%, the “investment” pays back. We can document the CO2 footprint of all our processes. We can document that Expanite does not use solvents, and we can document that Expanite generates no toxic waste.

Compliance made easier

If you want documentation on the environmental impact of the Expanite processes, we are happy to share our LCA (Life Cycle Analysis). The LCA provides full documentation on the CO2 emissions – and other emissions – from the Expanite treatment processes.

Do You Want to Know More About Solvents?

Our independently verified LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) documents that Expanite does not use any solvents. But competing technologies do. Solvents should be taken very seriously.

Solvents come in many shapes and forms, each with its specific applications and associated risks. Different solvents can affect your health in various ways, including respiratory issues, skin irritation, and long-term effects such as liver and kidney damage, or even cancer with prolonged exposure. Solvents are not only hazardous to human health but also harmful to the environment. They can contaminate soil and water, leading to long-lasting ecological damage and affecting wildlife.

Don’t just take our word for it. Please take a moment to read more about the risks of solvents and consequences of using solvents:
